Since the late sixties business has moved out from the area inside the city wall, "ringmuren". Stora Torget is a much frequented place during the summer with numerous bars and restaurants. The most prominent building is still the ruin of S:t Catherine, which is open for visitors during the summer.

Until the early 70's much traffic passed through here since most businesses were located inside the city wall. Today traffic is restricted especially during the summer.

Not only is there a lock for boats to pass between lake Mälaren and "Saltsjön" which is sea level and connected to the Baltic sea. There are also trains, subway trains and by car you can come from any of the seven directions and leave any of the seven directions without crossing another road.
